Questo è uno dei libri che avevo snobbato per qualche strano motivo. Forse perché avevo letto un racconto di Godwin e mi aveva lasciata un po' spiazzata... in ogni caso è comunque uno dei libri che avevo in lista di leggere.
Ed ora ho l'ebook <3 e già lo amo.

E' un volume unico uscito nel 1980 ed ecco la trama:

Sì, è uno di quei libri in cui la madre di Mordred è Morgana.
In ogni caso vi copio il prologo perché è fantastico.

Young Brother Coei who writes it for me is very serious about life, but then no one ever told him it was a comedy. He thinks I should begin in a kingly manner at once formal, dignified and stirring. I was never all three at once, but to take a fling at it: I, Arthur, King of the Britons, overlord of the Dobunni, Demetae, Dumnonii, Silures, Parisi, Brigantes, Coritani, Catu-vellauni——am disgusted and out of patience, being up to my neck in bandages like a silly Yule pudding. I'd write myself if I had an arm that worked.
